The Grand Canyon

This was out first visit the Grand Canyon and it was amazing! Unbelievable! The pictures don't do it justice. It was well worth getting up at 5am to see! I have to say that it was a little scary not having any sort of railing. Billy kept saying, "this seems like Turkey with no fence." Of course, it's so big it's ridiculous to think a fence could be put all the way around but it just seems at the touristy spots it would have been necessary. We did pay to go on the Skywalk. It is a glass walkway that goes out over the canyon. Just a little scary to look down! We had a great time at the Grand Canyon. We can't wait to take the kids some day but that won't be for about 10 years. I would be a nervous wreck with Jack running around and no fence! :)

see that metal thing? that is where they mined bat poop. Bat poop used to be used in make up such as mascara and lipstick
