A few days ago Bailey found this little nook between the furniture and she has been playing there a lot. I will come in the living room and find her playing in this little corner. Today she had her snacks sitting on the little table with her foot propped up on the little table part. I just laughed. Anyway she's found her own little place.
Yesterday was Billy's birthday. He turned 30! Bailey and I took him breakfast in bed. She also "made" him a card. It was the first time she colored. She wasn't quite sure what to do with the crayon. She kept wanting to put it in her mouth. But we got a few scribbles down. Then we went down by the Bosphorus to a little park and played. The weather was perfect. Then last night we had a few friends over and had shrimp fettucine and crawfish pie! Thanks to Billy's family who sent us the delicious crawfish! Everyone loved it! Then a couple of friends stayed and we played a game and talked til almost 2! It was fun but I'm getting too old to stay up that late and Billy said he was too!
Bailey, Adeline and Landon are together again! Landon and his mom, Rebecca, have been visiting this week so on Tuesday we got all three kids together. They are so much fun to watch as they all walk around and then wanting the toy the other is playing with! Bailey gets so excited when they are here. We always try to get a picture with the three of them which is not easy.
The other day Bailey was sitting in the floor very quite with her back to me. I didn't think much about for a few minutes but then thought she has something because she is way too quite. And sure enough she had gotten a chocolate covered cherry and had started eating it with the wrapping still on it. Luckily the wrapper was still in her mouth but she had eaten some chocolate and the syrup in the cherry was all down her shirt, pants, on the rug and on the floor! It was so funny! She was enjoying it. I guess from now on I'll have to share my chocolate covered cherries with her!
On Monday we went to see the progress on our new apartment. So we decided to walk around the neighborhood and then decided to have lunch there. We ate at this little place that only had 3 things on the menu - gozleme, manti and baklava. So we had gozleme. But I forgot Bailey's sippy cup (not a big deal because she rarely uses it) anyway I didn't have anything for her to drink. So I thought let's let her try ayran. For those of you who don't know what that it is - it is a salty yogurt drink. Some say it tastes kind of like buttermilk. And sure enough she loved it! After she had quite a few sips we set it on the table and she did not like that! She wanted more! So she is getting more Turkish everyday! But thank goodness she does love peanut butter and jelly! So I guess for lunch it will be PBJ and ayran! Gross! But she loves it!
This afternoon Bailey and her good friend Adeline colored Easter Eggs. Well ok actually Andrea and I ended up coloring them but we did get a few pictures of introducing them idea to them. They were funny. Bailey liked holding the egg and then throwing it on the ground! so one less egg for Bailey.
This week we went with a few friends to Kartepe (Snow Mountain). It was nice to get out of the city. There was snow on the mountain which was the only snow we've seen all winter! I wanted to let Bailey walk in it but on the second day it rained and so a lot of the snow was gone. She did get to touch it but not play in it. Oh well another year. Here are a few things we did this week.
At the pool you had to wear these plastic things over your shoes
