The day after we got back from vacation we didn't have much in the house to eat. So for lunch Bailey and I had peanut butter and crackers. Bailey really loves peanut butter. I didn't know how much until last night, which was a leftover night, I had leftover hamburger, Bailey had leftover Cincinatti chili and Billy had a PBJ sandwich. Well when Bailey saw her daddy eating that sandwich she wanted that instead of her chili. I finally got her to eat the chili but it wasn't easy! Anyway back to the peanut butter and cracker story - I decided to let Bailey feed herself which she loves and peanut butter was everywhere! I had to stick her right in the tub after lunch because it was in her hair, on her legs and arms, all over her face and on her clothes! So we haven't had it since. Although she does have a PBJ sandwhich a few times a week and she has to feed that to herself as well but she doesn't eat it like a sandwich - oh no she has to take it apart and eat it separate for some reason. So again peanut butter and jelly everywhere! but she won't have it any other way.
ok this is the last of our vacation. The last three days we spent in Munich. Here they are.
We went to the zoo one day and Bailey loved it. They had a petting zoo and she really loved that. She would chase arond the little goats. But when we were finished she had poop all over shoes! and she cried when we left the petting zoo because she wanted to stay there.
Well it seems like there is something in the water in Turkey because I'm not the only one expecting! Once again I am blessed to have friends having babies around the same time I am. Sarah and Sheryl are both due in a couple of weeks. This is Sarah's first and Sheryl's second. Sarah's having a boy so our son will have someone to play with. And Bailey will have another girlfriend cause Sheryl is having another little girl. It's fun to be out with them because everyone stares at all the pregnant ladies! Pray for these ladies the next few weeks. It is extremley hot in Istanbul! And pray for easy deliveries and healthy babies.
A trip to Krimmel Water Falls...the highest waterfalls in Europe. We took a bus up a forth of the way and then walked down for one hour to the bottom. I'm glad we decided not to walk up! or even walk down from the top that would take over three hours!
The chip monster...so what do you think - do you think Bailey likes chips? I can't even get the chips out until after she has eaten her sandwich because she won't eat anything else after she's seen the chips!
The last 10 days we've been on vacation in Austria and Germany. We spent the most time in Zell Am See, Austra then a night in Hallstatt, Austria and then the last three days in Munich, Germany. It was wonderful! So peaceful and restful in the mountains. It was a welcomed change. It rained alot the first few days but that was also a welcomed change to the heat we had been getting in Istanbul. It was also nice to wake up to rain or hear it raining in the middle of the night. We mostly just enjoyed being together and having nothing to do! I won't post all the pictures but there are lots of pictures on our dropshots page. Just click on any of the pictures and it will take you right to it.
Days 1, 2 & 3
Just got in the car and Bailey is happy to be on vacation!
Today we celebrated our friend, Byron's, birthday by sailing up the Bosphorus to the Black Sea. We were aboard the Hiawatha, which is the U.S. Consulate boat. It was a fun day with all of our friends. Bailey was quite the sea girl. She walked around with the boat swaying back and forth only falling a few times. But she loved it.
Yesterday Bailey went to work with her daddy while I whent to my regular doctor for a quick visit before vacation. Anyway she found a little drawer with keys in it and you would've thought she found gold! I think she was amazed her daddy let her play with them and didn't say no!
We had a great time yesterday celebrating our independence! As has become our tradition here we went to Polonezkoy "Country Club" and enjoyed the pool, hamburgers and even the Turkish hotdogs! Bailey loves the water even though she wanted to be independant sometimes and got going a little fast in the baby pool and went under a time or two. She cried for a second but quickly moved on. We also had some of our best friends leave for the states - Jeff, Andrea and Adeline. We are going to miss them.
