Mr. No Naps

Jesse is at the age (4 1/2yrs.) where he doesn't like to take a nap but he almost still needs one. It's evident when we get in the car late in the afternoon and he falls asleep in about 5 min. on our way to wherever we are going. It is comical sometimes seeing sleep take over. This is the "I'm trying to stay awake but I am really really sleepy" look!

Riding Bikes

Since we live on a hill we have to pack our bikes up and take them to the park. So we have done this a few times this summer at a nearby park. They have a really good trail to ride on that is a little over a mile. Bailey and Jesse ride their bikes while I push Jack in the stroller. They are getting better at it. There are a couple of small hills  slopes that makes the kids a little nervous. I talk them through it but sometimes fear takes over. And when I mean slope I mean it barley has goes down hill. But to them you would think they are at the top of a hill on a roller coaster about to go down it on their bikes!

The Many Faces of Bailey

Yesterday, Bailey got a hold of my phone and took a few pictures. A few pictures is actually an understatement. How about almost 50 pictures! And 41 of them being of herself! Guess I need to hide my phone from now on! Here is a sampling of the pictures.

Little Swimmers

For the past two weeks the kids have been taking swim lessons. Bailey knows how to swim so she is learning things like freestyle and the backstroke. To pass her class to go to the next level she has to swim 25m doing both. She can swim 25m doing the backstroke but she is still working on freestyle. I think she could do it but water kept getting in her goggles and she kept stopping. Hopefully we can get that fixed. Anyway, she is a great little swimmer. Her first week of class she had 4 others in the class. They would all share a lane but the teacher would space them out. Bailey would always pass one or two when it was her turn to go. The teacher would say, "Bailey, don't run over the boys! " She likes and it and I hope she continues to hopefully be on the swim team one day.

Jesse, had swim lessons last year but wasn't too fond of them. He is doing better this year. He did pass his first class and got to move up the second week but he still doesn't like going underwater. Don't think he will be on any swim team but I just want him to be able to swim and have fun. His big fear is jumping into the water. The first week he looked like a granny jumping in. But by the second week he was jumping in like a big boy! Progress!

This was Jack's first time. He isn't a fan either of going underwater but he does it. He is also afraid to jump in which is funny cause last year he loved it. He was even pushing Jesse in the pool last year when Jesse was taking too long and he was ready to go! But bribes work well with him so I told him if he just jumped in and didn't cry then we would go to McDonald's Play Land after swim lessons. And it worked! Actually he only cried once or twice.

Pup-Pups

The kids have been taking swim lessons for two weeks now and everyday we pass a putt-putt place. They have been asking to go and so the other night after supper we loaded up and went. Jack calls it pup-pups. I didn't want to correct him because it was too cute!  Playing putt-putt this time went much better than last year. Daddy was sorta dreading it but was pleasantly surprised how well the kids (mostly Jack) did. We had a fun time and I look forward to going back!

ready to go!

The Pro

we tried to keep Jack off the green as best we could but he sometimes wanted to be right in the middle of everything!

Sleepover!

Tonight was Jack's first sleepover with his big brother and sister. All of them were excited! We got out the air mattress but Jack did not want to sleep on it. He wanted to sleep in his "camp" bag a.k.a sleeping bag! I mean he was adamant about it! And so he did. Also they had a flash light and Jack was going to tell a spookie story. What?! Where did he learn this?! He's two! It was a fun night and I can't wait to watch them having many more brother/sister sleepovers!

Happy Father's Day!

Yesterday was a great day to celebrate all the dad's in our lives. I am especially thankful for my wonderful husband for being such an awesome dad!

Here's what Jesse & Jack said about him: (these were cards they made at church)

Jesse: I think he weighs 1 zillion pounds. He has black hair. His eyes are blue. His favorite thing to do is love me. He loves to eat pancakes. I love it when he takes me to his office and we play Starwars!

Jack: I think he weighs big. He has brown hair. His eyes are blue. His favorite thing to do is go to work in his office. He loves to eat McDonald's. I love it when he gets me presents.

So cute! Bailey's class didn't do a card. They gave daddy coupons instead.

Pool Time!

Last week we went to the pool three times! Jack would go everyday if I would let him! He was also not happy when we had to leave the pool.

Jesse and Jack playing. Neither one really swim so this is what they do. Next week we start swim lessons so hopefully soon they will be swimming like little fish!

It's summer time!

One of the things we like to do is have picnics in the summer. While we were sitting here an older lady walked by and said "oh an old fashioned picnic, you don't see that very often anymore." I guess it is still old fashioned even if you stop and pick up Chick-fil-a on the way! Anyway, we have fun and I'm sure we will have a few more before the summer is over!

Mile High Pile!

The kids sometimes get into piling things as high as they can! So the other night they got out every blanket and pillow they could find  and piled them into daddy's chair. It was a lot of fun!

Happy Donut Day!

Today was National Donut Day so for the third year in a row we went to get a free donut!  I guess it's becoming our summer tradition. This year and last we went to Krispy Kreme because you don't have to buy anything to get your free donut. Dunkin Donuts gives them away too BUT you have to buy a drink to get a "free" donut. This year we brought Holly and Aspen with us to share in the fun. Thank you Krispy Kreme for the free donut again!
