Dead or Alive?

The other night we walked down to the pond and on the way back Bailey found a little turtle on the side of the road. She can find anything - lizards, frogs, bugs and is not afraid to pick them up. Anyway she picked it up and we continued to walk home. I didn't look at it too close because I was trying to wrangle Jack who kept stopping to pick up every little thing. Anyway, we got home and showed daddy and took a few pictures and then I realized...this turtle is dead. Gross! We had been carrying around a dead turtle! We quickly threw it in the trash and washed our hands. Next time she picks something up I'll look a little closer. :)
