July 4th

We had a wonderful July 4th actually we celebrated on the 3rd but oh well. While Billy and I lived overseas we spent every July 4th at Polonezkoy with our dear friends (5 years in a row, I think) with the exception of one. Since we have been back in the states we've spent our Independence Day in a different state every year. The first year in Gulf Shores, Alabama, the next year in  last year Hilton Head, SC, last year in Marietta, GA and this year in Knoxville, TN. So where will we go next year?!

To celebrate we went to my brothers house and had a feast - spare ribs, grilled sesame chicken, grilled corn on the cob, green beans wrapped with bacon, roasted potatoes and lots and lots of desserts! Eight to be exact! We only had 15 adults so that was one dessert for every two people! I tried 5 of them! We topped off the evening with some fireworks. The best part of that was listening to little Joshua. He ooohed and awwwed so much...it was the cutest thing! We never had fireworks like that when I was growing up. Maybe just a few firecrackers and some sparklers. The kids had a great day and stayed up way past their bed time. But that's ok because today they slept til 8:30, 8:45 and 9:00am! Another wonderful 4th of July and thankful for the freedom we have!
