So this past week we went to our second Triple D place in Atlanta - the Cabbagetown Market. it is a small place. It is actually a small corner market with a lunch counter and a couple of tables. When we walked in I thought we had the wrong place because there was no one in the place except the people working. But we tried it anyway. It was pretty good. I think Kim's sandwich was the best. I don't know if I would go back but it was good. Anyway it is still fun just to mark another Triple D place off the list!
This week my big sister has been visiting. The kids have loved having Aunt Kim around. We took her to the botanical gardens, the Coke museum, IKEA and even went to a Triple D place. It's been a pretty good week!
If you've read our blog before you know that we like to watch Triple D with Guy Fieri. And we also like to visit those places that have been on the show. We've been to one in Gilbert AZ, Knoxville TN, Marietta GA and now Fort Worth TX. Today's place was a little unusual. We pulled up and almost didn't get out because it was a little sketchy looking. The restaurant, which is Chef Point Cafe, is located in a Conoco gas station. Let me be clear this is not a gas station converted into a restaurant but the restaurant is located inside a working gas station! You wait to be seated next to the candy counter. We sat right in front of the beverage cooler. People come in a pay for gas and cigarettes while you are eating! Ok for some of you this may sound normal but the type of food we ate in this place was anything but normal. It was some of the best food we have ever eaten. Seriously - their slogan is "5 star food in a gas station!" Oh my gosh it was soooo good! We had lobster bisque and stuffed pork chop with crab meat in the best creamy sauce I've ever eaten! Plus two appetizers and bread pudding with a cognac sauce for dessert! I know, I know that is a lot of food for just two and it was but we couldn't help ourselves. It's almost embarrassing telling you all about it but oh my it was so good. Who cares! So if you are in Fort Worth you have to check out Chef Point Cafe. It is so good! It was so good that they had people lined up waiting to get a table!
This week NeeNee (Billy's mom) has been up for a visit. She will be watching the kids a couple of days while Billy and I go to a wedding in Fort Worth. She will have all three kids by herself. We are so thankful she was willing to do this!
We went to a cookout/party on Saturday with some friends from church. I took lots of pictures of Jack as you will see. And then that same night we went to another party at my friends Tommy and Lynn's house. Two good friends from Knoxville, Eddie and Sandy came down for a visit so we all got together.
You see Jesse standing on the lid to this tote? He had taken off his flip flops and was getting grass on his feet and he didn't like it. I kept telling to go play but he would say "but I'm getting dirty!" and then would just proceed to stand there on the lid. I think he stood there for 15, 20 minutes (maybe longer) until I asked him if he wanted to put his flip flops back on. He did and then was off running around again!
