Cafe Efendi

On Friday night we decided to go eat at a Turkish restaurant, Cafe Efendi. It was really good. We didn't have high expectations but it was really good! We ordered sigara borek, which was one of our favorites in Turkey and something I made weekly. It was really good. We also ordered lahmacun, which was not so good but oh well. And for our main dish we had iskender and it was great! It tasted like the real deal. We also got to speak a little Turkish with a couple of the waiters. So that was fun but really made us dig deep for some words we haven't used in over a year! And the restaurant also reminded us of one in Istanbul because they did not have the air conditioner on so it was a little warm. Good memories. Next time I want to try the kunefe and sutlac. Oh and Jesse had his first taste of ayran. He liked it. And Bailey hadn't drank it in a long time so I was afraid she wouldn't like it anymore but she couldn't get enough of it! So I guess I'll have to start making it again!

it says Mediterranean cuisine but it is really Turkish

Just because

I made a cake the other day for no reason. I just felt like making one since I hadn't made one since March for Bailey's birthday. The colors weren't exactly what I wanted but then they never are! But it turned out pretty good.

Going to the doctor

We went to the doctor on Tuesday for both Bailey and Jesse. We were making sure Bailey got rid of her double ear infection and to check out Jesse's hands that have been peeling for a few weeks. Well both were fine. They don't know what caused Jesse's hands to peel (to the point of looking raw) but they did rule out a couple of things. But they are getting better now. And Bailey's ears were 100% better. Thank the Lord for healthy kids. And a cute little story...the NP that looked in Jesse and Bailey's ear would say I see a kitty in your ear. So today as Jesse was sitting with his daddy he looked in his daddy's ear and said "kitty, kitty." So funny!

Asleep again

Here Jesse is sleeping again in the car with his monkey in his mouth. Oh how he loves his monkey!

Zoo time again!

We went to the zoo the other week and the kids loved it, of course. At first Jesse wasn't to sure about the petting zoo but Bailey loved petting the animals. Jesse like it better when he had a brush to brush them with. We will go again now that school has started and hopefully it will be less crowded.

So tired he fell asleep on the way home with his new cool Safari truck...little boys would rather have a truck than a stuffed animal from the zoo.

More fish...

Well we went to the Georgia Aquarium the other week with Billy's family. We had a good time. It was very crowded sometime in the fall after school starts we may go again.

Trying to get a picture with Bailey and her cousins. Not very successful.

Johnson Joys

Our friend Mandy B. Stenberg visited us the other weekend and took some pictures of us after church one day. They turned out great! Isn't she a wonderful photographer?! Here is just a sneak peak but you can see more on our dropshots page. The kids are just too cute! This photo shoot went much better than the last one I took them to! And these were the first pregnancy shots I've ever had that I didn't take myself or Billy didn't take.

28 weeks

Here's our little boy at 28 weeks. The ultrasound tech said he had a head full of hair! So we'll see. I haven't even had that much heartburn so I guess that old wives tale isn't holding true this time around. But he seems to have his daddy's nose that all our children have!

The Beach

We went to the beach in July and it was wonderful! Billy isn't a big fan of the beach but he enjoyed it. He doesn't care for the sand that gets EVERYWHERE! Jesse loved playing in the sand. At least this year he wasn't trying to eat it! And Bailey loved getting in the ocean and jumping the waves. Every day we would go to the beach until the tide came in then we would stop by the pool for a while then go up for lunch and naps then go to supper and then bed. It was great.

Jesse was scared of the statue behind him. He had to sit in daddy's lap so he couldn't see him and then we it was time to eat we had to move him so he could see the scary man.

Bailey wasn't scared of him though!

World of Coca-Cola

We also went to the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta. It was ok. We thought there would be more but it's just so so and not really a kid place but we went anyway. It was fun to taste all the different "cokes" from around the world. They aren't really cokes but just drinks from different countries that Coke has bought out so you can try things like an apple-kiwi drink or lemon drinks or something like that. It would be like Coca-Cola going to Turkey and buying out Cola Turka and Camlica. Billy says the best thing about it was the souvenir shop. And they gave you a free bottled coke on the way out.
