Jesse celebrated his 7th birthday on October 28. Again, hard to believe he is 7! He wanted to play putt putt for his birthday so we took him and a few friends to play a couple of rounds and then for cupcakes. It was funny to watch some of them play. Jesse even got a hole in one! We love this little monkey!

Jack's 5th Birthday
October 19, Jack turned 5! So hard to believe! We had a party with some friends from church at the house. He wanted a Skylanders cake and pizza for lunch. This boy is something else but we wouldn't have it any other way!

Football and Soccer
This year Jesse played flag football and Jack played soccer. Jesse has really started loving football. He loves to play it on the Wii or talk about it and really likes to play it outside with the family. He did really well this season by scoring several touchdowns and pulling lots of flags. Unfortunately, his team did not do so well but Jesse still had fun no matter if they lost. And Jack loved playing soccer again and really liked playing with his friend, Walter. It is so fun to see them out their playing. Momma and Daddy get excited!
Camping
In September during our fall break we decided to go camping with some friends. We had never taken the kids camping before so we weren't sure what to expect. We went to Cloudland Canyon State Park and rented a yurt for a couple of days. We had so much fun! The kids loved being out in the woods and within the first hour of us being there they were able to see a doe and her buck out side our little yurt! We took hikes, saw a beautiful waterfall, roasted hotdogs and s'mores and laughed a lot! We will definitely be doing this again!
An Apple A Day
Back in September we decided to go to an apple orchard and pick some apples. We had never done this before and I was really looking forward to. I love to make an apple pie in the fall. Bailey and Jesse enjoyed it but Jack was worried about being stung by a bee. So needless to say it wasn't a grand ol' time! But we had fun and picked lots of apples and bought lots of apple goodies from the apple store!
Daddy's 70th Birthday
In August (I know I'm late in posting this!) my dad turned 70! Wow! 70! We threw a little surprise birthday party for him and had some old friends join us. I am blessed to have such a great daddy!

Jack's Homework
This year homework seems to be overwhelming for Bailey and Jesse or maybe just for me. But the first week I thought I would go crazy trying to help Jesse get his done (which is difficult when he will not sit still!), double check Bailey's homework (she can pretty much do it on her own but just needs me to check it) and then keep Jack occupied (which I did not do very well), oh and get dinner on the table at the same time. I have no idea how working moms or single moms do it.
One day, a friend suggested that I get a box full of stuff for Jack to do while the others are doing homework. So I got a small tote, walked through the dollar aisle at Target and voila! Jack's homework box! Now everyday, when the kids get home from school we have 30 min of free time, then a snack and then we start homework. Jack goes to the dining room, and finds something in his box to do. His favorite thing is to work puzzles. It will keep him entertained for at least an hour if not more! Hallelujah! Now everyday doesn't go as planned but for the most part homework time has remained somewhat sane.
