The Lonely Park

The other day the kids and I went to this little park in downtown Woodstock and had a picnic. We pretty much had the park to ourselves except for two ladies having a nice long talk on a park bench. While we were there I kept thinking if this was Turkey this park would be full of people! You wouldn't be able to see a blade of grass there would be so many people sitting on it. Just some differences in us and Turks. And maybe since most of us have yards we don't feel the need to go to a park and sit in the grass unlike Turkey where most people live in an apartment and don't have their own yards. Anyway, we like going to parks. Bailey loves to go to a park and have a picnic.

Bailey had just gotten her hair cut and the lady fixed it "curly" - Bailey's hair really isn't that curly anymore but that's what she wanted!

Jack Update

Thought I should update you on Jack's weight. I took him on Wednesday to the doctor so they could re-check his weight after losing a pound since his 4 month check-up. Well I am happy to report he has gained almost one pound. He was one ounce shy of gaining a whole pound. So everything is well! Thanks for praying!

Bobby Flay

On Sunday Billy and I went to the Metropolitan Cooking Show and got to see Bobby Flay! It was so fun. He made two dishes shrimp and a steak while answering questions from the audience and just talking. He was funny. I just wish we could have tasted his food! There were also tables set up where people were selling their specialty food or cooking things for us to sample and look at. We walked around to everyone of them and sampled just about everything! And we bought a couple of things we thought were especially good. Billy bought some chocolate ginger snaps and I won't tell you how many he ate. Let's just say there was a whole bag and I only had one cookie.

Here's Bobby...our seats weren't that close so it's not a good picture. This is as zoomed as my camera would go!

Two out of three ain't bad...

As you can see Jesse did not want his picture taken. I guess two happy kids for a picture is pretty good.

A Little Birdie

Last night Billy went out to fire up the grill and found a surprise. A little momma bird had made a nest in the grill! When he looked in there were about 3 or 4 little birds in the nest! We couldn't believe it. We decided just to let them be and not be bird killers which means we won't be grilling for a while. And I'm not sure what it is with me and birds but one time while I was living in Istanbul before Billy and I were married, I had a bird come into my kitchen and lay an egg up on top of my kitchen cabinets! It was normal to leave your windows open while you were gone and so while I was gone one day little momma bird decided to make herself at home! I had greenery on top of the cabinets and then the little bird brought a few of her own twigs and then laid her egg. So birds must like me or something. :)

The Third Child

Poor Jack, not only does he swing in a pink swing but he also has to hold his own bottle. Poor guy. Actually he started holding it on his own without us trying to get him to do it. Bailey and Jesse never did this! They were lazy and more than happy to let mom and dad hold their bottle. But Jack likes to be in control and hold it himself most of the time. It works out nice these days and lets me tend to Bailey and Jesse for a few minutes. At first I couldn't get him to even take a bottle but now a month later he takes it like a champ!

He is so cute holding his bottle
