Nectarines

Doesn't she look like such a big girl eating her nectarine? Bailey has loved eating nectarines this summer. She won't eat peaches but she will eat nectarines and grapes. I know the last few blogs have been about food but I promise she does more than eat! But it is about the only time she will sit still and that's because she has to!

Hello My Name is...

Cutie! Our friends, Byron and Karen, gave Bailey this shirt a few months ago. Since then we've had several people who thought it was cute that we would put a name tag on her shrit and say her name is cutie! I do think my child is cute but I wouldn't write that on her name tag! Anyway it was funny. So just so everyone is straight this is just a t-shirt with a printed name tag "cutie" on the shirt.

Oh the joys of learning to use a spoon!

Lately Bailey has been wanting to feed herself with a spoon which as you can see she makes a mess! I know she has to learn but I'm not fond of cleaning her and this mess up everyday! She has gotten better but she refuses to let me help her. When I say "let momma help you," she says "NO!" and pulls her hand away! She's just a tad independent. Must get that from her daddy's side. I know some of you are laughing at that.

Love that Chicken from Popeyes!

Yes you read correctly - Popeyes! Popeyes has come to Istanbul! Yahoo!!! We are so excited! On Friday Billy and I went on a date to a new mall that just opened because we heard a Popeyes was going in so we wanted to see for ourselves. When we got there it looked open but they were just doing some training and doing some finishing touches. We met the Vice President of Field Services and a few others from New Orleans and Atlanta. They took our picture and gave us some jambalaya. It was good minus the sausage. But it did taste pretty close to the real thing! So on Sunday they opened and instead of going to our regular place we went to Popeyes. And it was really good. The biscuits would melt in your mouth. Everyone kept going back and getting more! So that was our fun for the weekend! Love that chicken from Popeyes! (for those of you from Louisiana I know you are singing that in your head!)

Billy in line getting our Popeyes...also you can see all the Americans. There were at least 30 of us that went after church!

Check out Bailey's new shoes

We went to the Grand Bazaar this week and you know Bailey always gets gifts. This week was no different. She took home a pair of little "Turkish/Ottoman" shoes. They are cute on her and she loves to put them on wear them around the house. She hasn't figured out how to keep them on her feet since they don't have a back to them. But if she has her pj's on they stay on pretty good. She loves to clomp around in them on our wooden floors! I'm sure the neighbors below us are loving those new shoes as well!

Special Guests

This past week we had a visit from Bill and Becca. It was good to visit with them and have them in our home. We wish they were still living in Turkey!
