funny hair

Jesse got this little car for his birthday but Bailey of course loves to play in it. As you can tell it creates quite the static electricity!

Big Boy

Well Jesse had his one year check-up on Wednesday. He weighs 23 lbs. 12 oz. (with clothes on) and is 30 inches and a quarter long. He loves to eat and hardly turns anything down. He's usually the first one to start eating and the last one to finish at our table. He has loved milk since he tried it on Wednesday and the coldness of it didn't bother him at all. He had his last bottle last night. I was going to give him another day or two before we gave it up but he only drank 2oz. last night so I think he's ready to give it up. My baby's growing up! This picture was after the visit to the doctor. Look at him in his new big boy shoes! He's so cute!

Happy Birthday Jesse!

Well it's hard to believe but our baby turned one today. I can't believe a year ago we were trying to make our way across Istanbul during the Eurasia Marathon praying we wouldn't run into traffic and hoping that it was not a false alarm. Well it wasn't a false alarm and Jesse came into this world three weeks early! The Lord had mercy on me since Bailey was two weeks late. Anyway it has been a joy to watch him grow this past year and we are looking forward to many many more! He is such a blessing to our family! We love you sweet Jesse. Happy Birthday!

(we had two parties for Jesse - one in TN and one in LA - so that's why so many pictures and why Jesse is wearing different clothes)

Homecoming

Last weekend was Homecoming at Louisiana College. It wasn't just any homecoming but it was the first time they played in their new stadium in the only stadium they've ever had! Always before they played their home games at Pineville High but not anymore. LC now has their own field for football and futbol (soccer). So it was a pretty exciting day for the campus. The kids had a great time at the game and we can't wait to enjoy many more.

Pumpkins

Today we carved a pumpkin and tried something new to a few other pumpkins. This was Bailey's first time at carving a pumpkin. She got a little bored and then wasn't too sure about scooping out the gook inside. She got a little over dramatic when she first touched it but soon started to enjoy it. I wanted to try something that I saw in the October edition of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. We took different colored pumpkins and gourds and made wholes in them with an apple corer. This left us with a plug that we put in the other pumpkins/gourds. It turned out pretty nice.

not to sure about it

Dollywood

Yesterday we went to Dollywood with my parents and my sister and my niece. We had a great time riding the rides and eating all kinds of junk food. Bailey loved every ride she rode and some of them weren't so kiddy. Me and Nicole took turns riding the rides with her. And later me and Nicole rode a big kid roller coaster. I used to love riding those things when I was younger but not having rode one in years and years and years it wasn't what it used to be! Once was enough for me!

These tater twirls were featured on the Food Network on a show about amusement park food. They were good.
